Mini Game: A Myth-Busting EdVenture

Think you know what it takes to break into the school market? Time to put that confidence to the test.

We have built a short interactive mini game where you play as Ed, EdV’s intrepid (and occasionally overconfident) EdTech explorer. Ed is convinced he has school market entry figured out. Spoiler: he does not. Not entirely, anyway.

How It Works

Each round, Ed makes a bold claim about selling into schools. Your job is to call it out: myth or reality? Get it right and you earn points. Get it wrong and Ed gets a little more humble.

The myths are drawn from the real assumptions we hear most often from EdTech founders and commercial teams. Things like:

  • “If a teacher loves it, the school will buy it.”
  • “A pilot is the same as a sale.”
  • “Procurement cycles are predictable.”

(They are not. They are really not.)

Why We Made This

We spend a lot of time helping EdTech companies understand the realities of selling into schools, and we have noticed that some misconceptions come up again and again. The game is a way to surface those assumptions in a lower-stakes, more memorable format than a white paper.

If you finish the game thinking the school market sounds more complicated than you expected, good. That is the right instinct. And if you would like to talk through what that complexity means for your growth strategy, you know where to find us.

Play the Game

The mini game is linked below. It runs in your browser, takes about five minutes, and you might learn something that saves you a lot of time and money down the line.

Give it a go. Ed is counting on you.
